Carlton Studios rocked on into the wee small hours last night with their latest Hootenanny. The Scuffers were chuffed to be part of it all and we took our place next to some mighty fine bands, namely Adriana, Tighnamara, Clova and the Carlton Jug Band. The quality of the music on display was seriously good and the guitars n fiddles blazed-on well into the night. Not content with playing once, 50% of The Scuffers took back to the stage, slightly under-the-influence, for a couple of late-night ditties. Thanks a million to all at Carlton and Duncan at Tapselteerie. You can find out more about some of the other bands from Saturday here. You can also see pics of us from the night in our ‘Photos’ section.
Read a review of our demo here courtesy of our good friend Farmfoods at Crooked Rain. Let us know what you think of the tunes by leaving a note in our Guestbook.
The Scuffers will be playing a support slot on Thursday 23rd February in Baby Blue on Bath Street, Glasgow. Hope to see you all there!
On Monday 6th Feb, The Scuffers went into the studio to record their first demo as a band. Engineered by Danny Mitchell at Carlton Studios (thoroughly nice chap!!), the demo features 6 tracks: You’ve got troubles on your mind, Goin’ with the flow, Miracle Town, Dear Stranger, 6AM and Those Lovesick Blues. For a copy of the demo, email us at www.thescuffers.co.uk or listen to selected tracks at www.myspace.com/thescuffers . Being in the studio was a top notch experience and we can’t thank Danny and all at Carlton enough. Enjoy the honky-tonk sounds and let us know what you think!
Big Up to Mr Bruce Hadden for creating this site! Brucey ‘Bonus’ has been an avid supporter of The Scuffers throughout our entire five month gigging history! Respect to the man and massive thanks from the band.
