The Scuffers

Big Up to Gerry at the Woodpecker for putting The Scuffers, Dropkick & Clair on last night. Truly one of our best gigs ever. I certainly don’t remember being that popular when I was at school, or indeed when I was a regular at the Woodpecker, but the roof was well and truly raised by the return of (two of) Lanark’s infamous sons and their merry band of wanderers. Highlight of the evening was Andrew and Alastair from Dropkick joining us on stage for a rendition of ‘Take me Down’ and then ‘Wagon Wheel’, a number deemed so good it “had” to be played twice! Great fun.

Thursday 19th October saw The Scuffers take to the stage at Fury Murry’s for their ‘Battle of the Bands’ 2007 heat. 6 bands later, The Scuffers emerged triumphant, winning the judges vote to secure a place in the semi-final. Details of the semi-final date will follow, and if you can make it along to clap loudly/cast a vote/pleasure a judge, your support will be most appreciated.

We just found out, cos nobody ever told us, that The Scuffers were named ‘Band of the Month’ by Fury Murry’s in March 2006! Honest, look here.
