The Scuffers in Film Soundtrack

The Scuffers were over the moon to be invited to contribute a track to the Scottish Film “Fast Romance”.
“You’ve Got Troubles” will be part of the soundtrack to the film about “life, love and speed dating”
which is likely to be released next year. Initial feedback has described the film as “The best Scottish feel good movie since Local Hero” and “Sex in the city with a twist of Gregory’s Girl”.
Main actors include William Ruane (Sweet Sixteen, The Wind That Shakes The Barley), Jo Freer and Michael Howell, and the supporting cast includes cameos from well kent Scottish faces such as Rab Buchanan (That Sinking Feeling, Gregory’s Girl), Dave Anderson (Gregory’s Girl, Local Hero), Barbara Rafferty (Rab C, Last King of Scotland), Vince Friell (Trainspotting, Restless Natives) and Greg Hemphill (Chewing the Fat).
Carter Ferguson, the film’s director and executive producer says: “As films go, we are very much the underdog. We had no government funding, shot the film over weekends, and were very much supported by the people and small businesses of Glasgow. Other bands featured include A Band Called Quinn, Beerjacket, Kasule, The Dirty Cuts, San Fran & the Siscos, Den Haan and Esther O’Connor”.
“I am very happy to have a Scuffers track in the film. We contacted them as Alasdair McDougall, one of our Associate producers had seen them at a gig a few years ago and suggested we use them. The Scuffers track is used at a nice impact moment which is music led and leads us into the films key scene. A speed date at which all the characters meet for the first time”.
Having seen the film’s Glasgow premiere we are sure it will be a great success and are delighted and grateful to be part of it.
